TOUR LIST 2007
After a really successful Easter tour in Cornwall – the sun shone and it was wonderful to play to a home audience – we embarked on our ‘grand summer tour’!
This began in May at Saverne in the east of France and we then headed down south to Montpellier before coming home for Streets of Brighton and a rare show in Cornwall, while managing to dodge the rain! Next, we travelled down the west coast of France to Hendaye, in the Basque country, before heading north for Belgium and Holland, again managing to dodge the rain.
From this point onwards, the summer became a blur of festivals, shows, fantastic audiences, loading and unloading and hours and hours in the company van. From Paris to Lyon to Paris to Munich to Paris to Holland to Guernsey to Gdansk and back to Holland. In August we travelled the autobahns of Germany from west to east, north to south, performing at a series of fantastic festivals. It was at one of these that Simon damaged his ankle whilst packing-up after the show. A late-night x-ray showed no broken bones, and then came a mad 18-hour drive to Budapest to the amazing Sziget festival on an island in the middle of the Danube River. We then had 24 hours to get back for our next date in Holland! Then came more shows in Germany and France before a brief return to England where we had our only cancellation of the summer when it rained and rained at Barton on Humber (we hope to try again next year).
Next came a memorable 2,000 kilometre drive over the Alps into Italy to perform at the all-night La Notte Bianca festival in Rome (we also managed to visit Pisa, Siena and Venice en route). We ended the season with a couple of enjoyable days in Holland, performing at a friendly outdoor film festival, and then came a further show in northern France before returning home – to a well earned rest? No, to a pile of office work, and to start programming “The Station”, our new show for 2008.
From 2nd May to 23rd September we performed ‘CLIFFHANGER!’ 48 times in eight countries travelling 45,000 kilometres.
Touring: CLIFFHANGER! and BASH STREET BOBBIES.
